Olympic Swimmer Joe Roebuck made a special visit to Rowley Hall Primary School for a ‘brilliant and inspiring day for the children’.
To begin, all the children took part in an exhausting fitness circuit, with Joe Roebuck demonstrating how to perform the exercises. The hall was buzzing with cheering and music, to encourage everyone to give it their all. After all the children had passed through the circuit, Joe carried out a talk about himself and his successful career.
Joe has represented Great Britain at a range of International Competitions, including being part of the swimming team at London 2012. The children got the chance to hear about the hard work and dedication that is needed to be a success in sport. They also saw a selection of medals that Joe has won during his career.
Miss Smith from Rowley Primary said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to all the children and their families that brought in sponsorship money for this event. As a school, we raised a massive £1,797!! This money will go towards new sports equipment for the children to use in their PE lessons.”
Huge congratulations to Rowley Hall Primary School!
