Katie O’Connor

GB Disability Rhythmic Gymnast

  • About Katie O'Connor
Katie grew up in North Kent as the youngest in her family, naturally developing a competitive edge as she tried to keep up with - and often beat - her siblings! She loved sport from the start, joining almost every after-school club she could and even after making the National Squad, she still found ways to squeeze in extra activities. Born with albinism, Katie faced challenges with balance and ultimately partial sight, but she never let them hold her back. She went on to become British Champion in 2012 and 2015 in All-Around, Hoop, Ball, Ribbon and Rope Gymnastics. Now coaching national-level gymnasts, Katie is passionate about helping the next generation reach the podium - because she knows first-hand that hard work pays off.
